What are the best restaurants in Charleston?? I would have to say out of all the questions and comments that I receive via email, on my blog, and through Instagram this is the one that is asked the most. I always try to respond and let you guys know my top three, but I thought it would be nice to have a post for you guys to look at (or come back to) along with a little description of my favorite restaurants.
I’ll start this off with a few of our favorite date night dinner spots.
You guys may remember a post I did here about our dining experience at Cannon Green. Since that trip, Todd and I have been back once and I’ve also been back a separate time with girlfriends. Both times I went back the food was incredible, as were the drinks and service. Their menu changes daily, but I can almost guarantee there will be something that you will love. I strongly suggest that you avoid being afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone…I have the last two times and I’ve been pleasantly surprised 🙂
Chez Nous is a fairly new restaurant in downtown Charleston. They also create a new menu daily. Their menu consists of only two appetizers, two entrees, and two desserts each day. They feature food from Southern France, Northern Italy, and Northern Spain. I have now been on three different occasions and each time the food has been fantastic!
The outdoor area here is so cute and perfect for a date night, and their fried shrimp are to die for. If you are in the mood for a steak make sure you get their filet…it will melt in your mouth.
Even if you are staying downtown while visiting Charleston, this restaurant is worth the drive out to Johns Island. Todd and I have been here over a dozen times and it NEVER disappoints! The chicken parmesan and seared scallops are two of our favorite dishes!
I don’t think there is one bad thing on this menu, but my favorites include the stuffed mushrooms, the spicy shrimp, and the chopped salad. I am not even a huge salad fan, but I seriously dream about this one.
Now moving onto favorite lunch and brunch spots………….
If you are a fan of thai food (or even if you’ve never tried it before), this place is a must!! I won’t even embarrass myself and tell you guys how many times I’ve eaten here 🙂 Make sure you order the fresh basil rolls and the fried wantons for an appetizer. And you can never go wrong with their pad thai or basil chicken for your main dish!
You guys, this place is Asian food heaven. I know it sounds kind of strange, but make sure you order the cabbage pancake with all the toppings…it’s AMAZING!!
Perfect spot to stop with or without the kiddos, plus it also has a great outdoor area if the weather is nice. My favorites from the menu are mesquite turkey croissant and the santa fe chicken wrap!
If you are looking for a great lunch or brunch spot make you stop here. And just pretend that calories don’t count that day and order the big nasty!! It’s pretty much heaven on a biscuit, y’all!
I know lots of people rave about this restaurant for dinner, but in my opinion, their lunch and brunch is even better. And you can’t go wrong with their cheeseburger or fried chicken.
Okay so, who’s starving and already dreaming it’s already lunch time…haha! I hope this helps some of you guys that my visit Charleston. I know with all the restaurants here, it can be a bit overwhelming when trying to decide where to go.
Thank you so much for this post! Can't wait to try out a few this weekend!
You are so very welcome love, and sorry it took me so long 😉 Please let me know all the places y'all end up going and if you loved them or not!! xoxo
What a well-timed post! I will be visiting Charleston for the first time at the end of September and my main focus on most vacations is where to eat! Thank you for the recco's!
…. And now I want to go back and keep eating! We pigged out this last time! I can't wait to go back! Also still so excited I ran into you guys!! Xoxo
These all look SO tasty! Adding these to our next Charleston itinerary.
