This past week (and weekend) were super busy. Hosting supper club, fashion week, and birthday parties kept me on my toes for sure!
// On Thursday, I hosted supper club here at the house. I decided to be ambitious and cook everything gluten free, and actually do it all myself. And while everything tasted pretty good, it was hard to get the timing right for the sides and the main dish.
And of course I was so busy running around that I didn’t take one darn picture of the food 🙁  But here is what I made, along with a link to each recipe I used.

What I wore

// On Friday morning, I headed to Drybar to get my hair fixed up for fashion week. I didn’t do anything too fancy though, just a few loose curls.
What I wore

Top (on sale) // Military Jacket similar // Jeans
Tote // Flats similar  // Earrings

Before my girlfriends and I headed to fashion week we stopped in The Dewbury for a drink and quick bite. I ordered the gnocchi, and while it looked good, it was really bland and had a strange texture.

My Dress (only $89)  // Sandals // Earrings
// On Saturday morning, I took both kids to get haircuts, while Todd worked on putting our outdoor furniture together. Taylor just got a little trim, but Carson was in desperate need of a good cut. He has the best hair and it grows so fast. #nofair

Later that evening, Todd and I headed out to celebrate a friend’s birthday on a harbor cruise.

What I wore

It was such a fun night, and after a few drinks I didn’t even mind the freezing cold wind 😉

I love your dining room table and chairs. Where are they from?

Thank you so much Lindsey! They are from Wayfair 🙂 I am planning on doing an "around our home" post this week, so I will make sure that I include the direct links for both!

Looks like a fun filled weekend!! I'm sorry about Supper Club…it's so hard to time a dinner!! I would LOVE a post on how to prep for a dinner party like that… like what you did ahead of time and how you executed it once all your guests arrived. Did other guests bring apps and wine? So crazy y'all didn't even get ONE picture! (not even of the desserts!! were they all gobbled up?!) Would have loved to have seen your table complete with your dinner. It looked good–what was wrong with it? Fashion week looked so fun, and the cruise! Yay!

Hey Laura!! I know I had all intentions of trying to organize and set up a post like that after supper club, but I was just to busy running around when I needed to take pictures 🙁 And no, the way we do it when we host supper club, is host does it all! This way the guest just get to bring themselves and enjoy! And I actually did get one picture of the dessert, but the light was so bad because it was dark outside that it didn't look good at all! Next time I swear I will do it better and take pictures for you guys!

  5. Your table set looks so pretty, I love the napkins!! You are doing all of the fun things lately, love it!!

how do you handle kids ? i umderstand that they are not included but we have tried with a group of friends for in home book clubs or dinner parties and someone's husband is stuck at work, or a sitter cancels or at my housei prep and get my four bathed & feed before friends come but then we hear them,or someone leaves early for a big spelling test prep next day or gymnastics pick up.
Maybe a joint post with not only your ideas but your friends tips and ideas on how your club started, its schedule, and loads of tips..

I agree–that would be a great post! Like, what Todd does with the kiddos while you're there… do they just sleep soundly upstairs? I have vivid memories of my mom's bunco club and I'd sneak down and sit on the stairs to eavesdrop on them having wayyy too much fun–haha!

  9. Laura says:

Haha totally get that! Sometimes after an amazing weekend, I'm like darn.. I didn't take ONE photo! That's so fun! Obviously it meant you were too busy having fun to stop and snap a picture! It would be a good post idea, though, on a timeline of sorts on how to prep to host a gathering! I need help in that area, and you looked so on the ball!

laura – me too..but my kids were not quiet eavesdroppers when i tried to host. we end up doing alot of families coming over for dinner and the kids play type stuff as GNO's and date nights seem hard to execute at this stage (everyone working, kids homework, activities after school, and just everyday life).
I would love tips or ideas you have on planning too. I would not be able to host a dinner party Thursday, and go out to a party Friday and than Saturday night a birthday party too.i admire how you are always making time for fun stuff in your life.

I remember those days for sure, when we had littler ones at home we ended up going out every few months, less stress for all than planning in home. And, then my strong friendships were developed and fostered by including our families, laughing as we froze at soccer games, wine after a PTA meeting or a yoga class on saturday.
