// We leave in just six short days for our trip to Disney!!  About a month ago we changed our plans from going on a Disney Cruise to taking a trip to Disney World!!  We are going with some great friends of ours, and we decided that making the trip to Disney instead of taking the cruise would be easier for both families.  We are so darn excited!!  We are staying in a house about five minutes outside of Disney.  Everyone will have their own (themed) room, we will have our own pool, and the basement is a cool game room for the kids!  I can’t decide if I am more excited about telling the kids (we have something pretty cool planned for that as far as surprising them) or if I am more excited to see Taylor meet Mickey Mouse for the first time!!  It’s probably a tie 🙂  Disney World, we can’t wait for the magic to begin!!
// I am sure some of you may have noticed a few things changing in our family room downstairs. It’s in the process of a little mini-makeover, and it is almost complete 🙂  I am working with my friends over at Framebridge right now on the final touches!  Oh, and the new pillows on the couch are made by the talented couple at Motif Pillows!  I can’t say enough about their amazing work!  Here’s a little peek at what’s going on (the mirror is no longer there).
Sofa (similar) // Lamps  //  Hide Rug Similar
// Two outfits I am loving right now………..
Love this maxi, and the fact it’s only $84.00!

// I can not wait to start the fun, new salad series with you guys next week!  I love a good, cold salad in the hot summer, and not mention, I always feel great after I eat one!  I made this one last week for a cookout we attended, and you guys, it was crazy, crazy good!

// Last, because this story has weighed so heavy on my heart….please, please pray for this family.  I can not imagine the pain they must be in right now, but I know God has a special plan for these two sweet angels.  If you would like to donate you can do so here.

  2. First off, I am soo excited about yoru Disney trip. Please send me the deets on your house. We're currently looking for a good place (not within the disney resort) and your place sounds perfect!

Sorry to hear you are not going on the cruise, but I am not sure there is much for a 3 year old to do at Disney World. It's a lot of walking, heat and extremely limited as to what she can participate in. Have you ever been?

In addition, I have a question, you are making over a family room in all white and very sophisticated furniture. Is this where your family has a movie night? Or did you mean that you are making over a formal living room? Just curious. I have 3 kiddos 7,9,13 and can't imagine our family room being white and sticf for the 5 of us to watch a movie together. Now, my formal living room where they are not allowed, absolutely!

The disney trip sounds amazing and I know your kids will enjoy it!!! Any age is perfect for Disney–It is magical!!! You living room is simply beautiful and the colors are on point. I love clean lines. Praying for this precious family you mentioned, what a gut wrenching story! Have a wonderful weekend. xo

We leave next Friday for our week long Disney trip! We are staying off property at a 2 bedroom condo nearby. Let me know what days you will be there!

  6. Can't wait to see all your posts about Disney. We just got back from there a couple of weeks ago and we loved it!

  7. caycee says:

Yes, we have been! We took carson we he turned 4, and had the BEST time!! This will be Taylor' first time though! 🙂

Haha!! No this is our more formal area, there is no tv in this room! Family movie nights happen upstairs in our family room /living room 🙂

Oh man. We had an absolute blast on our Disney cruise and can't wait for our next one in October! You and your friends should go another time. Out first trip we went with five families and had a blast!! The kids loved the kids care and the adults all could relax while they played. It was awesome!!
And that family has been in my prayers all week. The wreck happened in my town and its devastating.

  9. Love your living room (the lamps! The sofa! The rug layering! the coffee table!!) and especially love your heart!!! Thank you for spreading the word about the Eddings! They are friends of mine from church and easily two of the sweetest and most humble folks in the world. Prayers for them are everything!!! xx

  10. How fun that you are surprising the kids! Take lots of pictures of the house I want to see!

  11. Joanna says:

We live in FL and go to Disney all the time. A 3 yr old will absolutely have fun there and there will be tons for her to do. Even my one year old has fun though she doesn't know who Mickey and Minnie are yet.
How sweet of you to post that story. I did not know about this family. I'm so sad for them.
You seem like a genuinely nice and sweet person.

  13. Michaela says:

I'm so glad you posted about that family. I just read their story on the FB page, and I'm heart broken for them. Praying Jesus will comfort them and surround them with encouraging people.

  14. Alicia xoxxo says:

Great post! Taylor will absolutely love DW! We took our little guy when he was 3 and he had an absolute blast! It was so fun seeing how excited he was for the rides, and the parade, and the characters. Such a great age. Truly nothing better than seeing everything through the eyes of your child. Have a great time Caycee!

You are going to love Disney! We just got last night from our Disney/Beach vacation, and Disney was every thing I hoped it would be for my son. I can't wait to go back again when Caroline (she is one) is a little older. Loving the family room makeover, it looks gorgeous!

  16. Bamawhitney says:

So I have done both – cruise and Disney World. I think 3 is PERFECT for either but all little ones need to experience DW. I would do the cruise thing when they are a little older so they can enjoy the kids clubs and things like that. I do think that the interaction with the characters is better on the cruise though. All the more reason to do both.

PS – that maxi is now on the way to me for my Maui vacation. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Such a fun weekend ahead of you and your family! I love the new additions and changes to your family room! Xo, Stephanie

  18. My heart is breaking for that family 🙁
