Hey ladies…happy Tuesday! Sorry for the absence yesterday, but our little man was feeling under the weather and he needed some extra mommy love. Thankfully it was just a little virus and he is feeling much better today!
// This past weekend Todd headed to the lake for a fishing trip with some of his buddies and my parents kept all five of the grandkids (my brother has three). They do this a few times a year and the kids get so excited!! They love their cousins so much…they have the best time together! And my parents even took all five of them to see the Angry Birds movie. They said the movie was super cute and that everyone did great. I must admit, I was pretty impressed!!
And for the first time ever I had our entire house all to myself. I am pretty sure I have not ever been completely alone in our house for more than a few hours, and I am not going to lie, I was really excited! I had not organized or cleaned out the kids closets in over a year, and they were atrocious you guys. So when I woke up Saturday morning I got started…I did not stop until midnight!! I am talking, I didn’t get out of my pajamas all day. I even ordered food so I didn’t have to stop…ha! So, after fifteen hours, I end up with multiple bags of clothes, shoes, and toys. Their rooms and dresser drawers are looking so much better. And I am pretty sure Rocky (our dog) enjoyed having the time with just the two of us. I may or may not have let him eat pizza with me and sleep in our bed both nights 🙂
I know this isn’t at all Pinterest worthy, but if you guys would have seen the before you would know it looks a heck of a lot better!
I even gave Taylor’s ‘Little Critter’ house a makeover as well, but as you can probably tell, she found it before I could snap a picture 🙂
// I was so ready to see my little family on Sunday when they got home. They made it home by lunch time, so we spent the rest of the day hanging outside and enjoying the warm weather! Our cute little neighbor also joined us for some kiddy pool fun 🙂
// Later Sunday evening, Todd and I snuck off to what I thought was a couple’s going away party for our dear friends who are moving away. Umm…no, it was all girls. I have never laughed as hard as I did when Todd and I showed up to see that there were no guys, just a table full of girls….oops!
What I wore.
Luckily Todd thought it was pretty funny and just laughed, but he decided to head back home and surprise Carson and take him fishing. Taylor was already asleep, so the sitter stayed with her, and they headed down the road to try a different pond to see what they could catch. Todd said Carson was so excited, and he ended up catching this pretty decent sized bass after only a few minutes of being there!
Love at that little snaggle tooth smile.
// Speaking of what I wore, another one of my favorite dresses by Cooper and Ella was just reduced to 40% off!!
// Little Miss Taylor’s last day of MMO was this past Friday. They had a performance where they sang a few of the songs they had learned throughout the year. It was so precious and our silly Taylor loved being on stage singing.
Being a silly goose as usual 🙂
Taylor’s dress is from Shrimp and Grits and you can find her sandals here.
My outfit details.
// I also wanted to mention that Nordstrom is currently doing their Clinique gift with purchase!! All you need to spend is $27.00 at Clinique and you get this bag (worth $70) full of great skincare and make-up!
I grabbed this compact and this eye makeup remover (it’s the best), as both of mine were almost out!
// And last, I wanted to share a few really big sales with you guys that just started!!!
– Nordstrom just announced their 40% off Designer Sale!! I have never in my life bought a real pair of designer shoes, but I want these so bad!!!! And I certainly wouldn’t be sad if this bag showed up on my doorstep either 😉
– Shopbop just started their biggest sale of the season! There are so many good things marked down like this Mara Hoffman dress and everyone’s favorite, the Free People dress!
– Kate Spade just announced their 75% off surprise sale!! I am talking $600 bags as low as $150, y’all! Below are just a few of my favorites! And you know I had to pick up this flamingo tee for $39, and this bow sweatshirt for Tay!
Great job on the closets! Everything looks so light & airy. Even the critter house! You & Rocky deserved to be so decadent! Todd is cute in the photos! My husband said he looks like one of the guys from my favorite "soap opera" from your area Southern Charm. hehe! Have a Great Day!
Cleaning out closets is the best feeling! I love that cute watermelon peplum top! xo, Laura
Taylor's dress is so cute… I love Shrimp and Grits. Kudos on the closets too. Kid clothes are no joke when it comes to folding.
It feels so good to get the organizing bug and clean out like that! We are slowly, but surely tackling our guest room now! I can't wait for it to feel fresh and clean! Love that picture of you and Tay!
I so need to clean out my daughter's closet! Great job on the organization! Love that watermelon top!!!
You did a great job organizing!! I enjoy your little family pictures, y'all are the cutest! Love that watermelon top too.
