Hello bloggy friends I have a special treat for you ladies today, I am going to be introducing you to the man that keeps me in check,(besides my husband of course). I would like you all to meet Zach Conrad my friend, personal trainer, and owner of ZC Fitness. I have trained with Zach for almost two years now, and I can not tell you how different I feel mentally and physically. He really has changed the way I feel about myself, and I could never thank him enough for that. So without future Adieu I will let Zach take the floor.

Zach tell us a little about yourself and why you chose to be a personal trainer?

I’m originally from Nashville, and graduated from of the University of South Carolina Aiken. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science. I played baseball while in college, and later pitched professionally for the Tennessee Tomahawks in the All American Athletic Association. Playing collegiate and professional baseball instilled in me a work ethic that has served as one of my strongest assets as a trainer. Being involved in athletics my entire life has helped me realize the type of drive and dedication it takes to succeed both physically and in life. I have lived in Charleston for the past 7 years. After working at several local gyms over the years I decided to start my own In-Home personal training company. Since then Ive settled in ESAC in West Ashley where I have a private training studio, a total staff of three trainers as well as a nutritionist.

What is the most rewarding thing about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is helping my clients acquire a higher quality of life. The happier my clients are the happier I am.
To me the ultimate goal in life is to be truly happy. I believe that health and happiness go hand in hand. I know that by managing a clients health and wellness plan I can help them function better as a parent, spouse, etc. And I know from experience, a happy wife is priceless!

How important is your diet compared to weight training?

The 3 components of fitness are weight training, resistance training, and nutrition training. You must effectively combine all 3 components to truly get in shape.
Weight training is the only way to develop lean muscle and muscle is the only substance in your body that burns fat. So weights are key to losing fat.

Also keep in mind, you are what you eat. You can have the best workout routine in the world but if you are eating McDonald’s everyday you are getting no where. Weight training and diet are equally important, and consistency is the key.

Last but not least Zach, what we really all want to know is  there a secret or special move/moves to having that perfect bubble butt, and flat washboard stomach?

The best exercises for your butt are squats and lunges. These are the movements that work the largest muscle groups in your lower body, thus burn the most fat and build the most muscle. When it comes to your stomach abdominal exercises are important but diet is going to be the key element in keeping a trim waistline

Not only is Zach Easy on the eyes, he has two beautiful daughters, and a gorgeous wife!

Zach, Thanks so much for telling us about yourself, and sharing a few secrets with us!  If any of you ladies are interested in personal training you should go see my friend Zach!!!!!
