I’m so excited to share one of my favorite pieces in our house with you today. Before we even started building, I knew I wanted to have a barn door somewhere in the new house.
After months of stalking the web, Pinterest, and Instagram I stumbled upon Salt Wood Co. I’m pretty sure I spent half my day drooling over all their gorgeous reclaimed wood and stunning furniture creations, and I knew we had to have these guys make our door.
I know many of you have emailed me or contacted me via Instagram about our door, and I can’t express enough how wonderful Vann (the owner) and the rest of the guys were to work with. After only a few emails back and forth discussing wood choice, design, and stain color I knew they were going to be able to create exactly what I wanted.
And they were even sweet enough to let me come out to their workshop and take a peek at how they build the barn doors. I was pretty mesmerized at all the detail that goes into these doors, and I love the fact that they use old reclaimed wood. The reclaimed wood gives these doors so much character, and makes every door unique and different.

When Vann and his guys brought our barn door over to install it, I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked. It was even better than I imagined, and I still get excited everyday when I walk past it. Anyway, I’ll stop yabbering now and just show you guys the door!
And for those of you that are curious, behind this door is our laundry / mudroom. And yes, this pretty door makes opening the laundry room much more fun πŸ˜‰

And because we loved our barn door so much, we also had Vann and his guys at create and build a custom 30 x 84 table for our eat-in kitchen area. I don’t have this area completely finished yet, but I can’t resist showing you guys a sneak peek and a picture of the beautiful table they created.
So, if any of you are local and in the market for a custom piece of furniture, I highly recommend Vann and his team at Salt Wood Co. You can also see a lot more of their work right here on their Instagram page
