Good morning friends, and happy Tuesday!  Our kiddos started back school yesterday so we had an empty house, and while it was really nice, it also felt very strange!  Anyways, I wanted to share a little recap of the little getaway Todd and I went on to Beaufort.

First off, we stayed at The Emerald, which is the most gorgeous little boutique hotel ever.  It’s a full self service hotel, which means there is no one at the front desk or on site.  That being said, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this at first, but we ended up loving it and it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

And the rooms…oh my goodness, our room was stunning.  I seriously wanted to take the art, curtains, and lighting home with us!  Whoever it was that decorated these rooms knocked it out of the park!

I will also say that one of my favorite things about this hotel was the location.  We were in walking distance to all of the restaurants, the adorable shops, and the beautiful waterfront park.

On night one, Todd and I made reservations at Wren, which was one of the restaurants you guys highly recommended.  Thank you so much for the recommendation because it was delicious!  We got the pimento cheese for an appetizer and then we split the amazing seafood pasta.

After dinner, we walked around the little downtown area and stopped in some of the cutest shops.  Afterwards, we ended the evening taking in the beautiful view of the waterfront park.

What I Wore

We were both up bright and early the next morning, and being that neither one of us seem to have the ability to sleep in anymore, we decided to walk to Blackstone’s Cafe and grab some breakfast.

And just so you know, I am on a mission to find the best shrimp and grits and I’ve been getting them anytime we travel.  Although I can’t say these were the best I’ve ever had, they were really good and they were also spicy, which I really like.
After breakfast, we toured more of downtown area and ended up going into almost every shop.  It was so nice to be able to take our time and look in all the fun shops and art galleries.  Two of my favorites were Scout Southern Market, which had the prettiest home decor, and Beaufort Belle, which had the sweetest baby clothes and accessories.

After shopping, we headed to lunch at Hearth Wood Fired Pizza.  The Asian style wings were to die for, and the pepperoni and mushroom pizza was really yummy as well.

After lunch, we walked around some more and then we ended up going back to relax before getting ready for dinner and to eat again…haha!
What I Wore

We went to Saltus River Grill for dinner.  This was by far the number one most recommended and it did not disappoint!  We both had their signature crab bisque soup (which was the best I’ve had), and then Todd had the oysters while I had the shrimp and grits.  The shrimp and grist were unlike any I’ve ever had before.  It was in a rich, brown gravy with yummy mushrooms and smoked bacon.

On Sunday, we actually semi slept in and didn’t fully get out of the bed until 9 am.  We walked down the street to the cutest coffee shop, grabbed a latte, and took one last stroll to the waterfront park.
Afterwards, we packed up and headed to Port Royal to eat at Fishcamp on 11th Street.  This may have been my favorite spot out of all of them, not only because of the delicious food, but because of the insanely gorgeous view.  We sat outside and had the best breeze the entire time…it was pure bliss.

Beaufort and The Emerald, you were both so amazing and we can’t wait to return for another trip!
