Hey hey, Happy Monday!! I am off to the gym, the IPhone doctor (mine shattered this weekend), and then the grocery store! I am planning on cooking up something new and healthy this week so I will definitely report back if it’s yummy!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We laid pretty low this weekend and had some much needed family time. We finished a few projects around the house, changed out all the lighting, and made our finial decision about painting the cabinets……we decided it’s best to paint them!! I am not even going to tell you guys how many trips I made to Lowe;s trying to find the perfect light bulb to make the cabinets flow better. In the end, I am way too OCD and they would just bother me. I know it’s going to be a pain, and my kitchen will again be in shambles, but in the end I really just want bright white cabinets! On a happy note we now have a backslash and I am in love!!! But speaking of lights, do you guys have any suggestion on what bulbs to get? The ones I have in now are the bright white 3500K. I am still not 100% happy with these as they make my very white subway tile seem off white. I am so confused, who knew there were so many bulb choices? Any suggestions?

Friday night Todd and I went to a birthday party for one of our neighbor friends! We had a great time and it was so nice to catch up with our neighborhood friends we hadn’t seen in a while. We didn’t stay out too late, but late enough for me to cave and get my beloved Taco Bell on the way home. I am proud to say it was my first fast food meal in 3 weeks. I have really been trying hard to just cut that out all together and so far (besides Friday night) I’ve been doing great. I’ve also traded in my half and half sweet tea for water, and I must say, that’s been the hardest. It’s just something about that Taco Bell Mexican pizza I can’t resist! Ha! I am really thinking I should try this recipe, it’s got to be better for you right?!?
On Saturday we busted out our first smore’s of the season! It’s one of our favorite things to do. There’s just something so awesome about the cool air, a fire, and melted chocolate marshmallow goodness!! Not to mention, our kids love making them! I think I may make a little smore bar for some girlfriends of mine that are coming over for pizza and wine this week. I am thinking throw some Reese’s and dark chocolate in the mix.
On Sunday we promised Carson a trip to the Halloween store. He has been asking non-stop to go and get some things to decorate our yard. I know it looks so tacky, but he loves it and his smile is totally worth my yard looking a mess for a month 🙂 He keeps telling me that he can’t wait for his friends to see his cool, scary yard, “I bet there going to freak out mom”.
We ended up grabbing a few things from Target and then heading to Spirit Halloween! Y’all, that place is creepy scary, we did’t last long in there before Carson said he wanted to leave. When we left he said, “I don’t know why I wanted to go there so bad, that place is way too scary for me, plus, that cat jumping out at me was not funny at all so why was that lady laughing at me?”. Bless his heart, he almost leaped across the store. 🙂
And our spooky yard……………..

Last, this picture just melts my heart! Early Sunday morning we headed to the park to snap a few pictures for an upcoming blog post (probably tomorrow) and I snapped this picture of Todd and Taylor. It really may be my new favorite. He always begs Taylor for kisses and she usually tells him “no” just to tease him, but this time she went running to him and gave him a big one. I was so happy I had my camera out! Love these two so much!

Great post! Your new kitchen looks amazing girl! I love it. May I suggest something for lighting? We just did a kitchen reno a year and half ago and we had lights under the cabinets installed. It really shows off our backsplash, and looks so nice when they turned on without the overhead lights on. It makes everything look fresh and bright. Also a little taco bell now and then won't hurt. Everything in moderation, right?:) And I love the pic of Todd and Taylor. Total framer! Let me know if you want me to send you a picture of the lighting under our cabinets. 🙂

I agree with the lights under the cabinets. We have them in our kitchen, and it really showcases the back splash. It looks great!

I think you will be able to capture the true beauty of that backsplash once the cabinets are painted bright white to match!

  14. I agree that you need under cabinet lighting! Then I need you to post a tutorial on how to install them. 🙂 I want / need it badly for my kitchen, but it seems like a major pain the butt. And I love love that picture of your hubby & little girl. So sweet!
