I am so excited to share Taylor’s “finally finished” big girl room with you guys!  I thought that designing her nursery was fun, but this room was definitely the best!
I had a vision in my head of exactly what I wanted, and I could not be happier with the way it turned out!  I wanted to design a room that she could grow with, one that felt serene, and not too busy.
I am thinking that she totally agrees πŸ™‚
Warning – there are lots of pictures!!!  I am no photographer, and getting the entire room in one shot was close to impossible, as I don’t have the right equipment for that.
One of my favorite pieces in her room in her tufted headboard from Home Decorators Collection ! Their quality is outstanding, and you can’t beat their prices!!

And this little box may appear empty, but in the bottom right are these tiny little animals she collects.

If you look closely in this picture you can see the tiny giraffe.

Thank you so much for allowing me to share you with all of you Taylor’s big girl room! Below are all the sources for everything! But, if I miss something please feel free to email me with any questions!

  1. The room looks fantastic! I just ordered the elodie rug for my future nursery. Can you tell me what that paint color is? It looks perfect!

Not gonna lie, I think the room is pretty, but it looks like a guest room vs. an actual toddler's room. Where are the toys? the books? the little kid prints?! I get it but given the majority of the stuff is c/o, you had to go all Pinterest. It's kinda sad in a way. I could never see my kid enjoy this kind of room…and she has her own room AND playroom, so it's not like I would even justify this by say the toys are in the playroom. Her room still should feel like an actual kid lives there…….

Thanks so much!!! Oh girl you are going to LOVE the rug!!! It's white dogwood by SW! xoxo

Hey July! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Taylor's toys are in the upholstered storage bench (see picture 8) and in her closet. I of course cleaned and picked up her room up before I took pictures, as I am sure you do when inviting people into your home. Her books are in her playroom on her bookshelf, but trust me when I tell you she has full range to take them to and from as she pleases. As far as the kid prints I didn't want to purchase kiddie art that I would have to replace in a few years. Although I know we all see things differently, I very much think the elephant and the chicken are childlike. I can promise you there is no reason for you to feel sad for Taylor πŸ˜‰

  5. Such a darling room! I see that rug everywhere and wish I had a little girl to decorate for! It's perfection!

  6. Oh like woah to the commenter above…I'm sorry, but if you don't have anything nice to say, please refrain!!

  7. This is so perfect! The commenter above cracks me up. haha. If you came to my house first thing in the morning not a single toy would be out and our baby's room is totally picked up! You have to at least have some sort of cleanliness part of the day. Good job in your response! πŸ˜‰
Question though: has she ever fallen out of her bed? What bed did she go to from the crib? I really want to just transition to a twin straight from the crib, but son tosses and turns all night long!

It is perfection! I can't believe she is already old enough for a big girls room, time flies!

  9. AMAZING! I am obsessed with those swing arm sconces. And the art. And the Elodie rug. And the mirror. And that that was your desk when you were little!!!! LOVE her big girl room!!!! Your style is perfection. xx

  10. The wife says:

    Gorgeous! Especially love that rug!!

  11. Beautiful – and so clever that you have thought ahead – toddler rooms are tough (especially for girls) because we don't want to be updating them in a few years time again! Love the colours x

  12. Unknown says:

Everything in this room is perfect down to the last detail. Such a sweet space. Love the bedding and rug.

I love it girl, me too!!

Knock on wood no!! But just to be safe we tuck her in with two big stuffed animals on each side πŸ˜‰

  14. You did an amazing job! That rug is beautiful! Xo, Stephanie

  15. July says:

Caycee – I certainly didn't mean any disrespect, and probably should have elaborated on some of my thoughts. I guess what struck me the most was that the room doesn't look kid friendly. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a beautiful room, and like I said, given the fact that most of the items were c/o, you put together a very nice space. I think when it comes to kids, I just like the more traditional kids room. They don't have to be bright blue, yellow, or red, but you know what I mean? I think it's the downside of Pinterest and blogs these days, where everything just seems to be for show vs. practical. Anyways…I digress. I appreciate your response, and sorry if my original comment came out as an "attack". I believe we are all grown women who can agree to disagree at times πŸ™‚

It's very pretty. I see everything listed except the paint color. What is it?
