// I hope you all had a wonderful, long weekend. It was a rainy and nasty one here in Charleston, but we made the best of it and spent lots of family time inside 🙂
Yesterday, on Memorial Day, we were actually able to beat the rain and take the kids to Magnolia Plantation for the day. I am embarrassed to admit this, but this was our first time visiting Magnolia Planation. It was really fun walking around and explaining the history to Carson (he is now at the age where he is understands and is somewhat interested). It also gave us a good reason to explain the real reason we celebrate Memorial Day. So, a big thank you from our entire family to all the men and women that have given their lives while protecting and serving our country. We are forever thankful and grateful for you all.
// I have to say, everyone’s favorite part at Magnolia Plantation was the animals. It was so wild and so cool to be able to feed the deer. They were so gentle and would just walk right up to you. The peacocks, on the other hand, must have had enough of the people because I watched one of them attack a man, not once, but twice. So needless to say, any time we would see one I would make sure the kids and I kept our distance.
This picture was taken as soon as we got out of the car, before I knew how crazy these beautiful birds could be 😉 Thank goodness this wasn’t one of the angry peacocks!
Even though I am looking quite rough, I still love this picture of the four of us in front of this huge oak tree.
And since it was still pretty nasty outside I kept things super casual in my favorite ball cap, jean shorts, and this super soft tee.
// On Friday night, we headed out for an early date night with some of our favorite couples! We ate at Wild Olive, and both the food and the company were awesome!
And how amazing does my friend Erin!? She just had this precious baby boy a week ago! Aww…that newborn sweetness never gets old.
What I wore.
Dress // Earrings // Sandals old similar here
// On Sunday, we had a fun neighborhood cookout, and of course, I didn’t take one picture 🙁 I told Todd that I had to get better about bringing my big camera around with me.
I did snap this one before we headed out. This dress is the most comfortable ever, and I am loving all six colors that it comes in!
Dress // Necklace // Wedges
// And don’t forget, their are tons of sales still going on, and today is the last to shop a few of them! I did a little round up here on Friday and another one here on Saturday if you missed it!
Love the striped dress! Can you wear a normal bra with it?
Hey!! Yes ma'am you sure can!
Magnolia Plantation sounds so fun! Crazy about the peacocks! Love that easy striped dress!
Such a beautiful group of ladies x
So much fun! I don't think I've been to Magnolia Plantation since I was ten years old, putting that on my list now for our next trip.
