Happy Monday loves! I sure hope you all had a great weekend! Our’s was lazy and laid back, and if I am being honest, these are always my favorite 🙂
// We made it to the movies on Friday and Saturday! Well, it was just Carson and I on Friday. He had a bad headache when he woke up Friday morning so I kept him home. By noon, he was miraculously feeling much better 😉 So by that time, I decided to keep him home and just enjoy the day having some one on one time with him. We saw the movie, Pete’s Dragon, and I may or may not have teared up three different times. It was truly a great movie. Then, on Saturday we met some friends of ours to see Storks. No tears while watching this one, but lots of laughs for sure. It was super cute and everyone really enjoyed it! So, if you have kids I highly recommend both of these movies.

// On Friday night, we had plans to meet our friends and their kiddos for a belated birthday celebration at the Screen Door, but on the way there it started POURING DOWN rain like crazy. And the main reason we chose this place was because of the fun outdoor area. Needless to say, when we arrived it was crowded inside and still raining outside, so we decided to head back to our house and order takeout. The kids had pizza and played for hours, while the adults enjoyed Thai takeout and the chance to talk without being interrupted…so it all worked out in the end. The temps were feeling pretty good Friday with a light, cool breeze before the rain, so I had on a what I like to call a little pre-fall outfit.
Sweater sold similar here and here // Jeans // Necklace // Bracelet // Booties (on sale)

And here is Sunday’s look, which is also transitional and pre-fall 🙂
Tank also here // Jeans (on sale) // Similar open toe booties
// And speaking of outfits, I also wanted to let y’all know my favorite stripe tee from last year is back in stock!! It’s such an awesome tee for ($19) and it goes with almost everything! This one is by the same brand and is also very similar!
// I’ve been on a roll with cooking over the last couple of weeks, and yesterday morning I decided to give these pumpkin pie cinnamon rolls a try! Holy Moly, melt in your mouth goodness! I mean, clearly I’ve got some work to do on the skill of making them look pretty, but trust me, they taste amazing!! If you love pumpkin, you need to make these asap.
And last, y’all…I need some help!!! This cute little pup and all his shedding hair have taken over our house. Rocky’s hair is seriously out of control and it’s everywhere. No joke, I swept and vacuumed four times yesterday!
All this to say that we are in need of a new vacuum, and I would love any recommendations you guys have! Ideally, I would love something cordless and lightweight if possible. We currently have the Dyson V6, and to put it nicely, it has been the biggest piece of crap ever. I’ve had to call Dyson over a dozen times about fixing it, and every time they send me a new part to fix the problem and then something else breaks on it! I’m sure they’ve probably done some work in tweaking all the problems with it since we bought our’s back in 2012, but I’m not willing to spend this kind of money again and take that chance 🙂 I also love the idea of a robotic vacuum that can just go on it’s own. I have heard great things about the iRobot RommerILIFE V3s, and the bObsweep. Do any of you guys have one of these? If so, I would love to hear if you love it or not. Thanks in advance guys, and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Riccar vacuums are the way to go! They are on the higher end, but they are so worth it!

I tossed my Dyson and bought a Shark at Target back in the beginning of summer! I love it and haven't looked back! Great for short and course pet hair!

    I love our roomba!

  4. Love our Shark Navigator! We have two!

  5. Sarah says:

Obsessed with the roomba. I have a non-shedding doodle and no kids, but I don't know how I lived without it!

Definitely following this post!! Let us know what you end up getting. One of dogs has also been shedding like crazy and it's driving me nuts! I'd love to know what you get and if you end up liking it.

I had the original Dyson cordless (with several issues also) We have a large canister one also with zero issues. We decided to bite the bullet & try the new V8! I love it! I am very "fussy"..ha when it comes to cleaning and one of our dogs is a pug. Pugs are wonderful at shedding (ha) and it picks up the hairs like a dream. He still sheds a lot this time of year and with dark hardwood floor this vacuum has been fantastic!
I think Dyson has worked out the "kinks" with this line of cordless vacuums.

We recently just grabbed the Shark Navigator Freestyle from Amazon Prime – it is under $100 and works well. I wanted something lightweight, cordless, that I could use daily to keep up with the dog hair on our hardwoods and it checks all the boxes. The head swivel is great too. https://www.amazon.com/Bagless-Navigator-Freestyle-Cordless-SV1106/dp/B00C351GBC

Roomba has been life changing for me!!!! I also have a shark which is not cordless but it is great!!

  10. Leigh says:

I can't believe no one has suggested a Miele. Best brand of vacuum out there, we have one of the canister versions and it's awesome for dog hair and wood flooring!

  11. Unknown says:

Off subject but I would love to hear more about your house build. For example the materials you picked and any suggestions you have to make the building process easier!! We are getting ready to build and any suggestions would be helpful!! Thanks

I have a shark and it is hands down the best vacuum I have ever owned!

  13. sallyr168 says:

I'll second Miele as the best to go for – I've now had mine for 14+ years and use it at least once every day and do the full 5 bedroom house, wood floors, carpet and tiled floors, at least twice a week and it has never let me down yet, no repairs of any kind required as yet!

  14. Unknown says:

I am late to the party. But I will 3rd the Miele. Worth every penny. Super light (not cordless but very light).
