One of the questions I get asked quite often is what are my favorite restaurants downtown Charleston. This is always a hard one for me to answer because we truly have SO many amazing restaurants. Either way, I decided to break this down into a few different categorized posts starting out with my top 5 date night spots. Over the nest few weeks I’ll share my top 5 kid friendly restaurants, top 5 brunch spots, and top 5 casual restaurants in Charleston.
Along with my five favorite date night spots, I also wanted to share a little date night style inspiration for both you and your man.
If you or your man love a really good steak this is the place to go. And I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms, the Hall’s chopped salad, and the lobster mac and cheese. This restaurant has  received a lot of recognition and there’s always a line out the door, so make sure to make reservations in advance if possible.
This restaurant is very small, cozy, and romantic. The menu includes dishes from Southern France, Northern Italy, and Northern Spain. The menu changes daily and there are only two choices for appetizers, entrees, and deserts. The four or five times that Todd and I have eaten here, every dish blew us away and the wine was amazing.
I thought about not including this one because I know you’ve heard me talk about it many times, but it’s truly our favorite, most visited date night spot. If you’ve never had Thai food before, then let this place be your first! You must order the fresh basil rolls and the fried wantons. For your main dish, I recommend the basil with chicken or the pad thai.

This is a small, romantic Italian restaurant that’s kind of tucked away and you probably wouldn’t notice it if you were just coming for a visit. But it’s truly a hidden gem that has some of the most amazing house made pasta you will ever taste. If you’re a fan of scallops get the pappardelle, and if you’re not, then my next favorite is the bucatini.
This restaurant is the most casual out of all of the others I’ve listed, but it’s still a great date night spot with the option to sit indoors or out on the patio. My favorite things on the menu are the bacon wrapped dates, whipped feta, and their bear creek burger! And if you love a good gin cocktail, you should definitely get their strawberry letter 23.
I truly look forward to our weekly date nights…I love getting dressed up, trying new restaurants, and most importantly, some alone time with Todd.
And now let’s chat a little bit about our date night outfits.
The thing I love about both of our looks is that they are great for transitioning into fall and can be worn into winter by adding a few layers. If any of the men in your life are looking to add a new pair of jeans to their closet, I highly recommend these Mavi jeans from Nordstrom. Todd said they are his favorite, because of how soft and comfortable they are feel. They also look and feel like designer jeans, but are only $98!!  He really likes that they come in different lengths so he doesn’t have to worry about having them hemmed.
My dress is good for almost any occasion. It’s fully lined so you don’t have to worry about it being see through, it comes in 8 different colors / prints, and it’s only $69!
