A question I often get from you guys is what are my favorite restaurants in Charleston. As I’ve mentioned before, Todd and I do a weekly date night, and we either try something new, or we hit up our favorite spots.
So…..with that being said, I thought this would be a really fun, new series to start. This way I can share all my favorites with you, and also give you a little peek at the food!
Todd and I enjoyed, and I actually mean ‘really’ enjoyed dinner at Cannon Green last weekend. Not to mention, we had the most adorable and friendly waiter ever, and to top things off, the place is absolutely gorgeous inside!
What we ate.
(The menu changes daily, but they often repeat some the appetizers) And if you want a good cocktail I highly recommend the Il Fuego del Gato.
For starters, we had the heirloom tomatoes and raviolo. If either of these are on the menu when you go, get them!! The heirloom tomato salad had grilled peaches, burrata cheese, pistachios, and it was mixed in lemon oil and topped with mint. The raviolo was an in house made pasta with duck egg, spinach, ricotta cheese, brown butter, and garlic chips!
For our main dishes, I had the creek stone beef medallion. It was so tender and full of flavor. The loveliness you see mixed with the beef is pomme (fancy word for potatoes), grilled oyster mushrooms, french beans, chimichurri, and pine nuts. I am still dreaming about this dish right now.
Todd had the pan roasted red fish, and he said it was delicious. The fish was paired with local butter beans, chanterelles, leeks, and topped with salsa verde.
And last, for dessert we had the Meyer lemon olive oil cake with fresh berry ice gelato and warm bread pudding topped with homemade ice cream!
What I wore.
These shoes are the prettiest pink you will ever see, and they are so comfy!
And ps y’all Nordstrom just announced their end of summer sale!! So many good things marked way down!! I am going to try and come back later today with all my favorites 🙂
Hi Caycee! The necklace goes with everything! (And of course you make everything look simply fabulous.) Thank you again!
Yay loving this new series. We leave for Charleston in 11 days so this gives me some ideas on some places to eat. Any more recommendations? Send them my way!! Xo
You should DEFINITELY look into one of the walking food tours. When I was there a few months ago, we did one and it was AWESOME. You walk the city and stop in at restaurants and shops, learning about Charleston foods and customs along the way. And you get a taste (sometimes more!) at every stop. We ate so much that we cancelled our dinner reservation that night!
We also loved WildFlour bakery for coffee and treats in the morning. I had the BEST chocolate cake ever at Hominy Grill. We also really enjoyed Magnolias and The Grocery. You really can't go wrong anywhere in the city, that's for sure.
Loving the shoes x
Those shoes are killer!! The meal looks scrumptious!
