Happy FRIDAY!!!!
Todd and I are on day 26 of the Whole 30 program so the finish line is right around the corner!! I gotta say, besides a few glasses of wine and an occasional dinner out, we plan to stick with a lot of the Whole 30 rules in our everyday life.
I want to start off by saying that neither one of us started this program for the weight loss. That being said, I have never in my life started any sort of diet or plan without weight loss being the main focus/sole purpose. So, the idea of starting this program felt totally different. Now don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mind losing a few pounds…I definitely needed to, but the reason Todd and I started this program was because, physically and mentally, we were both feeling like we were in a funk. We were both eating a lot of junk, drinking too much alcohol, and not getting enough sleep and it was really starting to take a tole on both of us.
The first week was pretty brutal to say the least. We were both extremely tired and I had the worse headaches, but by week two it was like our bodies did a complete 180 and I had never felt so good my entire life. And when I say that, I am dead serious…I had more energy than ever. I was in the best mood and my anxiety was at an all time low. Week three was just as good as week two, and now, here we are in the home stretch…week four.
Now that we’re in week four, I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t felt quit as good as I did week two and three. But I think that has to do with me having a lot more on my plate this past week and not getting enough sleep. Either way, I’ve still had more energy than normal, but my mood has been a little up and down. I think this is just life, no matter what diet or plan you follow, but I just wanted to share this and be totally honest with you guys.
Now for the weight loss, and again, we didn’t start this diet with a goal of losing weight, but we knew some weight loss would probably happen because we knew we wouldn’t be eating all the junk we had before. And I know you aren’t supposed to weigh yourself on this program, but I have always weighed myself once a week so I continued to do so. And while the numbers have dropped, the main thing I can see is the difference in how my clothes fit and how much leaner and stronger I feel. I really haven’t payed much attention to the numbers, and for me that is very rare…I have always been a numbers girl when it comes to my weight. But for those of you that have asked about weight loss, at this point I’ve lost seven pounds and Todd has lost twelve.
I also wanted to share all of the things that have helped us survive this Whole 30 program and these are things we will continue to use after this is over. We already had lot of these things, but have really used them a lot more over the last three weeks. The ones that are new to me will now be staples in our house.

If you don’t own a pressure cooker / instant pot then you need to get one. This pot has been a game changer for us and makes cooking healthy so fast and easy! And just so you know, the same pot we have is now 20% off.

Mueller Spiral-Ultra Multi-Blade Spiralizer

I don’t think I need to say too much about this gadget because I know you guys see me using it all the time on my stories! It’s amazing and you can’t beat the $24 price tag!!

These aren’t cheap knives, but they are worth every penny. I’ve never seen them on sale before, but right now they are 20% off! You will keep these knives forever and once you use them you won’t ever want to go back to anything else.

Even if you aren’t doing Whole 30, I highly recommend every single one of these dressings and sauces. Not only are they the best dressings I’ve ever tasted, they are also super healthy and they have no added sugar or artificial ingredients.

This past week, we made three recipes from this book and they were all really good, not to mention, they were truly fast and easy!
After using these, I will never go back to regular creamer again! They make your black coffee taste so much better and it is SO much better for you than any other kind of creamer. I like to mix about two tablespoons of the nutpods creamer along with one large scoop of this collagen coconut creamer in my coffee and it is so delicious!
The reviews are correct, this protein is the only one I’ve ever used that is completely tasteless and it also dissolves quickly and completely in your drink. Plus, my nails are longer and stronger than they’ve been in a long time!

And since Monday is officially our last day, I will share all of the recipes that we made. If you’re looking for some Whole 30 approved recipes for this weekend you can check out this post.
I hope you all have an awesome, fun-filled weekend!!

  1. Hi! I'm doing a Whole30 this month, and I've been enjoying the new Whole30 Fast and Easy Cookbook. We've made at least 3 of the recipes so far. I'm also a Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides fan! I bought the vanilla collagen creamer, too, and I'm not a big fan, so I'm going to check out that dairy-free creamer you posted about. Congratulations on sticking with the Whole30 last month. I've attempted finishing two times over the last few years, and I'm determined to finish out the 30 days this round. 🙂
