I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that my baby boy is NINE! And even though he is no where close to being a baby in age, he will always be my baby.
If you’ve been reading here for a while you already know that I love to plan birthday parties! But the older my kids get, the harder it becomes to pull off the “cool” party while still letting my creative juices flow, but this year Carson said he wanted to have a sleepover with a few of his friends so I suggested they do it out back in a big tent and he could have a “campout sleepover”. Luckily, he thought my idea was awesome and this is how the “campout” theme came about!

Look at that happy smile…melts my heart.

The whole crew was still going strong the next morning and ready to jump and play on the bounce house…man I wish I still had that kind of energy 🙂
The party was a huge success and everyone had a great time, especially the birthday boy! And four out of the seven boys slept in the tent all night, and when I say slept, I mean played and chatted until 3 in the morning…ha!
Details and Sources

I took all the photos and that is why the lighting isn’t perfect in all of them. I’m still learning how to adjust my settings quickly when the light changes or when I’m moving from outside to inside. Either way, I get asked quite often what kind of camera and different lenses I use. The camera body I have is this Cannon EOS 7D and the two lenses I use the most are this one and this one. But of you are looking for one a cheaper lens to start out with, I also have this one and it does really good as well.
