Good morning friends, and happy hump day!
// Our home is SLOWLY coming together. I put slowly in all caps because we do not have a single room completely finished yet. I really want to take my time and pick pieces that I truly love in this house, and I’m finding out that takes a lot of searching and time. With that being said, our living room is the closest room to being finished, so I thought I would share a little peek.
I can’t tell you how much we all LOVE the new couches. They are so comfy and I love that they are a darker color, so now I’m not stressing about stains.

PS – The chairs in the windows will be replaced soon with built-in window seats.

// With the move, things have been so crazy around here and date nights have been non-existent. But that’s about to change, because as of next week, we are bringing back our weekly date nights…..can I get a whoop whoop!! I’m so excited that I already have my dress picked out and ready!
Trust me when I tell you that you NEED this dress, ladies. It is made out of the softest, stretchiest cotton, and it’s super flattering. For sizing reference, I’m wearing the small in the regular. The petite measurements were super short, so I ordered the regular. I’m so glad I did because the length is perfect.
// Mara Hoffman is currently having a HUGE sale! Lots of great pieces to grab now and save for spring. I have listed a few of my favorites below.
Tunic Dress – was $297, now $118.
Swing Dress – was $268, now $80.

Cropped Leggings – was $128, now $38.
// Speaking of new clothes for spring, I’ve been eyeing a lot that I’m loving. I may just have to snag a few of them now to wear on a girls trip I’ll be taking to St. John in less than a month!! I’m so excited to get away with some of my favorite girls, and relax by the clear blue water! If you guys have ever been to St. John, I’d love to hear some of your recommendations on what to do, where to eat, and where to shop 🙂

Those couches are a great choice! So elegant. And I love the color since your house is light and bright. You can always add any color throw pillows too! Now you can relax cause that's a big purchase! hehe. I'm reading that book you suggested a while back called Daring Greatly. I like it. I'm a slow reader and trying to absorb and use some of these books great feeback! Thanks! Hope you enjoy your upcoming date nights and the big trip too! Alie

Would you recommend sizing down in the swing dress? I'm usually a size small but at 5'4 I don't want it to be too long.

Oh my gosh, your living room is AMAZEBALLS. I absolutely love it. I had my professionally designed and it doesn't look nearly as gorgeous as yours. Kudos. I wish I'd hired you as my designer.

Where are you staying ? Food is great in town and Caneel Bay has amazing food..can't think of any shopping really probably more on st Thomas ( jewelry and watch type stores)…

  5. Love the living room. I can't wait to see the rest of the house. Daniel Island is an amazing place to live. Advice for weekly date nights, as it can get expensive with dinners and sitters each week, how do you keep it affordable, yet fun? I would like to have weekly date nights with my husband, but right now we're lucky if it's monthly (schedules considered). http://www.morgan-jennifer.com

  6. St. John is one of our favorite places! Caneel Bay has great food and great drinks and amazing scenery. Gotta visit Trunk Bay of course! And lastly, I highly, highly recommend doing a catamaran cruise over to the BVIs to see Jost. It's totally worth it. We were on ST. Thomas but we picked up a group on St. John, so if you don't find one starting in St. John look for ones that start on St. Thomas and pick up on St. John. They have to hit St. John because customs is there. 🙂 For shopping, you can take the ferry over to St. Thomas as they have the more upscale shopping. St. John's little town area has some shopping but nothing like St. Thomas. I could go on and on! Have so much fun!

Hey Margaret! No go with the small and it will be perfect on you 🙂

Thank you so much Alie!! Now if only I could relax haha!

Wow Junshow you just made my day girl 🙂 Thank you so much!!

We stayed on St. Thomas but fell in love with St. John. Although we beach hopped, Cinnamon Bay stole our hearts. Definitely visit Waterlemon Cay! Shopping was better on St. Thomas but St. John has Mongoose Junction which consists of several shops and restaurants. Our most favorite restaurant was called Room with a View located at Bluebeards Castle on St. Thomas. The view of the island at night was amazing and the food was delicious! XO bistro is a nice restaurant in Red Hook (where you'd catch the ferry to/from St. John). We didn't get to take advantage of it, but there is a SkyRide that is essentially a ski lift up the mountain in St. Thomas. There is a restaurant at the top and the views are supposed to be spectacular. I believe it's only open on Wednesdays though. I am jealous of you and hope you have an amazing trip! Cannot wait to see pictures. -Cortney
