Spring weather has officially arrived, and everyone in the Hewitt house is very happy about this!! Bring on all the evening grilling and dinner on the patio! As you all know Walmart+ is my weekly go-to for all of our fresh/quality groceries, and you can’t beat the convenience of having everything arrive at your door with free with same day delivery at the same low prices as in store ($35 order minimum. Restrictions apply.)

I was able to grab all of our favorites for the grill online with Walmart+ including the best bbq sauce, and the best uncured beef franks. Seriously if you haven’t tried the Great Value brand franks then order these now, along with these pickles!  Mango Habanero and Maple Bourbon are our two favorites, but we haven’t tried the Thai chili ones yet!
And grilling outdoors just got even more exciting with our new Blackstone griddle! As you can see I fell down the Blackstone accessory rabbit hole while placing our grocery order a few weeks back ha!
Todd is obsessed with this griddle, but I am not complaining because every thing he has cooked on here has turned out amazing, plus my kitchen gets to stay clean! He came home on his lunch break last week and grilled up the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had, so I knew I needed to share the recipe with you all. I am pretty sure most of the flavorful glory goes to this cheesesteak seasoning

*And I just wanted to add that we just used one green bell pepper, and we skipped the cheese whiz, and it was still mouthwatering delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 Lb. of Thinly Sliced Beef (Rib-Eye Roast, Sirloin, Tri-Tip Roast, Rump Roast, or Flank Steak)
  • 1 Onion, Sliced
  • 1 Green Pepper, Sliced
  • 1 Red Pepper, Sliced
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of Butter
  • Salt & Fresh Ground Black Pepper to Taste
  • 3 Tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 12-18 Slices of Provolone Cheese
  • 1 Jar of Cheese Whiz
  • 6 Hoagie Rolls

Steps

  1. Preheat the griddle to medium high heat.

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and some oil to the griddle.

  3. Add the onions, green peppers, and red peppers to the hot griddle.

  4. Season with salt, pepper, vinegar, and a ½ tsp of garlic powder. Toss to combine and coat evenly.

  5. Add another tablespoon of butter and some oil to the other side of the griddle.

  6. Add the thinly sliced beef to the griddle. Chop it up with your metal spatulas to help it all cook evenly. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and another ½ tsp of garlic powder.

  7. When the meat is cooked, divide it evenly on the griddle into 6 piles.

  8. Turn the heat down to medium.

  9. Add a few tablespoons of Cheese Whiz to each pile of meat, then add the veggies to each pile.

  10. Add 2-3 slices of provolone cheese to each pile of meat and veggies.

  11. Split your hoagie rolls and toast them on the griddle.

  12. When the provolone cheese is melted, place each pile of meat into a toasted hoagie roll and serve hot.

So friends if you haven’t signed up for Walmart+ yet, then now is the perfect time! Grocery shopping in the summer with three kids at home isn’t happening around here, and I have a feeling a I may be placing multiple orders a week instead of just one!  Also, you can shop everything seen above by clicking on the photos below!

Thank you Walmart* for partnering on this post.
